On October 28, 2010, the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) wrapped up its Healthy Workplace Month with an Alternative Health Practitioner Fair. I was fortunate to be one of the thirteen practitioners who provided services for BCIT staff and students. The fair was a great success according to the feedback we received; students and staff hoped that we would hold it annually! Please visit BCIT Alternative Health Practitioner Fair to view all of the practitioners who participated. I encourage you to visit them and try their services!
Does your workplace have Healthy Workplace Month or does it place an emphasis on wellness? Would you like to arrange to have local practitioners come in to explain or demonstrate what they do? If so, please contact me and I will look into arranging an event for your workplace.
One important thing that I realized from the Health Fair was how few people consider using EFT and energy therapies for physical issues. Often people only think to apply these techniques for emotional or psychological challenges.
In the brief sessions at the fair, I had some powerful successes with physical issues. Long-standing back and neck pain reduced quickly and easily once the initial trauma was treated. This is surprising to many, because we have a tendency to disconnect the possibility that physical problems may have an emotional element.
Even if you have a broken arm from an accident, in order to facilitate healing, there are emotional components that could potentially obstruct your body’s natural healing process. For example, if you were injured in an accident, you may be holding on to anger toward the person or circumstances around the original incident. If there were any difficulties with insurance, with your job or finances as a result, those frustrations may still be stuck in your body. On top of all that, you may simply feel annoyed that you have to deal with a broken arm and the added stress that it ends up causing in your daily routine.
Using EFT and energy therapies, all of these additional pieces can be cleared. This often results in quickened healing of the underlying physical issue.
Beyond that, occasionally, physical issues have a very surprising emotional origin. We may not even be aware of old emotions that are stored in certain parts of the body, especially in the back and neck. Once those emotions and traumatic memories are released from the body, rapid healing often results.
So the next time you have a pain in the neck or something weighing on your shoulders causing pain, consider doing some tapping or coming in for a session to clear away any blockages to your natural healing, particularly if the pain is not moving or has been stuck for some time.
